It’s all gone a bit Pete Tong

24 10 2008

Cockney slang for “wrong”, and also the title of a mind-blowing movie. I bring this up because Pete Tong is playing at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza tonight with a few other DJ’s.

I was first introduced to this movie about two years ago by a dear friend, whom is famously nicknamed Stef Boyardee, and didn’t fail to impress me once I actually saw it. I wonder if I would have found this movie on my own, or if I would have liked it as much without Stef’s recommendation (since I’m not huge into club music) but I could definitely appreciate the storyline and Paul Kaye executed a fine performance. Viking shall be thy name

21 10 2008

Last night I went to see Amon Amarth, with Belphegor (which I missed some of) and Ensiferum opening for them, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. The show added more confirmation to the facts that I need to move to Europe and I need to marry a long-haired viking.

1. The studly Johan Hegg

2. The obligatory drinking from horns

3. The angelic Petri Lindroos

I officially have a crush on Petri, though I’m not usually partial to blondes. I guess I can make an exception this one time. You know you have a crush on a rockstar when you feel as if they are staring, and singing, right at you, and only you.
